  • Me and Argentina

I’m a 26 years old computer-science student from the Netherlands with obviously a great interest for the Latin American continent and culture, especially Argentina.

I came into contact with Latin America when during the holidays in 1998 I met a girl from Argentina. At that moment the Spanish language sounded like Chinese to me and Argentina was a country I didn’t know anything about, except that it is the country of Diego Maradona.

One year later I visited Argentina for the first time and I was able to speak a little Spanish. What struck me the most was Buenos Aires’ resemblance with western European cities. When you exit the city the resemblance stopped.

Now, five years later I have visited Argentina three times with a total stay of five months. Through my visits to Argentina, study and living in Madrid for halve a year; I can safely say that I am fluent in Spanish now. I’ve different parts of the country but for me there is still a lot to explore. I’ve scheduled my next trip for December till March as a grand finale for my student life. My good friend Sanne will be joining me for the second time to Argentina.

I am 25 years old and visited ArgentinA for the first time last year. The sound of Spanish by itself makes me long for Spanish speaking countries, ArgentinA in particular. At the end of next year I will be travelling to ArgentinA again I hope I can keep it out for three months overthere..

I can savely say my Spanish isn't fluent yet and that's why I wonder why this Tribe is not in Spanish...? Just kiddin Chema.

Right now I will be off to the USA first for a short break in which I will attend a wedding of an old friend. Can't wait however to start practising my Spanish again...

      Hasta la Pasta..

i spent 4 months working in and traveling in argentina in 1999. i worked for the ecochallenge out of bariloche, and traveled thru patagonia for 3 months. i fell in love with the people and the dulce de leche. =)

now, i am about to move to paraguay, to asuncion in fact, to be a teacher at the american school there for at least 2 years. i expect to spend quite a bit of time in argentina, as its just across the border. especially the NE.

most all argentines i meet have great passion and energy and are warm, kind people.
